Introduction to refining furnaces

The refining furnace is a kind of smelting equipment in the thermal processing industry, which is mostly used in ferrous metallurgy for the final deoxidation and alloying process of molten steel.
According to different smelting purposes, there are different classifications, common are argon blowing furnace, LF refining furnace and so on.

The main production equipment is RH refining furnace and LF refining furnace.
A kind of equipment used in non-ferrous metallurgy or iron and steel metallurgy to refine crude metal impurity removal.
There are three types of refining furnaces for copper refining method: reverberation furnace, rotary furnace and tilting furnace.

Reverberation furnace is a traditional fire refining equipment, is a surface heating chamber furnace, simple structure, easy operation, can process cold materials, can also process hot materials, can burn solid fuel, liquid fuel or gas fuel. The volume and size of the reverberation furnace can be large or small, the fluctuation range is large, and the processing capacity can be from 1t to 400t, which is very adaptable. Factories that process a lot of cold material and smaller factories mostly use reverberation furnaces to produce anode copper.

The rotary furnace is a fire refining equipment developed in the late 50s of the 20th century. It is a cylindrical furnace body, which is equipped with 2~4 air pipes, a furnace mouth and a copper outlet on the furnace body, which can be rotated 360°. The rotating furnace body buries the air outlet under the liquid surface to carry out oxidation and reduction operations. The rotary furnace body can be filled, slagged and coppered, and the operation is simple and flexible.

The tilting furnace was developed in the mid-60s of the 20th century by the Swiss company Maerz Kiln, which draws on the advantages of the two furnace types based on the reflex furnace and the rotary furnace. The furnace is shaped like a reverberation furnace, maintaining a large heat exchange area, adopting the way that the rotary furnace can be rotated, adding a fixed air outlet, canceling the air pipe and slag operation, reducing the labor intensity, can handle both hot materials and cold materials, and is an ideal furnace type tilting furnace capacity from 55~350t.
